Varanasi to also have a Medicity where all the services will be available under one roof
Varanasi, December 1, 2017: After successfully bringing multi super specialty healthcare services to the millions living in Western Uttar Pradesh through its two hospitals – Nayati Medicity, Mathura and Nayati Hospital, Agra; Nayati Healthcare today announced plans for a day care and OPD centre in Varanasi so as to bring cancer care, kidney care and respiratory care closer to its patients from Varanasi &Purvanchal.
Niira Radia, Chairperson, Nayati Healthcare said “We believe access to quality healthcare is a basic right to dignity and it is our mission to bring the best in healthcare to the 2nd and 3rd tier cities answering to the felt needs in these long neglected regions. We are witness to the extremely skewed distribution of healthcare infrastructure, technology and expertise with almost all of it concentrated in the metros. The metro-centricity and prohibitive costs are part of a larger exclusivity. Nayati’s vision is to bring down these high walls of exclusivity in healthcare and move to where the real India lives. The need for care & cure is nowhere greater than in Uttar Pradesh and adjoining states which have been deprived of the basic right to dignity.”
“In last 18 months of operation at Mathura, we have seen a huge number of patients coming from Varanasi, Bihar and Jharkhand. At Mathura, they not only get the world-class infrastructure, technology and expertise of the clinicians that were till some time back only available in metros but also get the treatment in a surrounding which is amiable and personal. We will soon be starting our day care & OPD centre in Varanasi so that the patients post procedures at Nayati Medicity, Mathura can consult their specialists and avail day care services like chemo, dialysis, respiratory and other consultations in their own city. In the coming few years, Varanasi will also have a Medicity like Mathura where all the services will be available under one roof.”
Dr. R K Mani, CEO- Medical, Nayati Healthcare stated “Nayati, today, is a centre of excellence for cancer care & critical care. We have created the most comprehensive and dedicated cancer centre for the entire North India. The brightest minds in surgical, medical & radiation oncology, along with a complete range of diagnostics, technology, high-end ancillary experts and patient support system are available under one roof. And now with the initiation of our kidney transplant programme, we are poised to become an institution of repute for renal care. We have one of the most comprehensive teams for Kidney Transplant program, led by renowned renal transplant surgeon & acclaimed Urologist Dr. (Prof) PB Singh, who is one of the leading transplant surgeons in the country and has more than 300 successful transplants to his credit. Our intent is to cater to a population which does not have the means to go for the expensive treatment and services available in the metros. I am humbled to see our vision unfold in the way we promised.”
The kidney transplant at Nayati was performed under the aegis of veteran team of Dr. (Prof) P.B Singh Chairman-Centre for Renal Sciences and Dr. Krishna M Sahu, Director & Head of Department of Nephrology & Kidney Transplant. Prof PB Singh is a distinguished academician and a surgeon par excellence and was founder head of the department of urology, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University. He established renal transplant programme at Banaras Hindu University and at prominent private hospitals. He has to his credit over 300 renal transplants.
Dr PB Singh, Chairman, Urology & Kidney Transplant said, “The launch of dedicated kidney transplant division, with state-of-the-art facilities and world class specialists, brings hope to many patients suffering from end stage renal failure, who remain in the dire hope of transplant program available at big metro cities. VishwanathPratap Singh Rathore, 19 year old male from Mathura and Vedehi Kant Chaubey, a 46 year old male from Jharkhand (Palamau district) were the first patients to get new lease of life through Kidney Transplant at Nayati Medicity. Both the cases were very intense and at Nayati we are geared to do all types of kidney transplant.”
“The first case is of Mr. Chaubey who is a resident of Jharkhand came to us with an urgent need for kidney transplant. He had end stage kidney disease and was presented with condition of diabetes and also suffered from hypertension. During the pre-transplant medical work-up, Coronary Angiography was advised and it showed around 80% blockage. He was advised for revascularization. The transplant was also much needed and here at Nayati our Transplant & the Cardiac team collectively counselled the patient and his family and successfully did the transplant.
The second case is of VishwanathRathore, a student of B-Tech who had to discontinue his studies for a year due to his routine hemodialysis schedule. After the complete pre-transplant medical work up, the renal angiography of the prospective donor depicted multiple renal arteries. Such morphology often increases the risk factor involved in the surgery. But the entire Kidney Transplant Team unanimously made the decision to go ahead with the t Surgery. The collective efforts counted and at present the patient is doing well and has resumed his academics.” He further added.
